Renewing Your Mind with the Word of God podcast is a verse by verse, chapter by chapter study of the Word of God. The podcast’s name is from Romans 12:2 which says “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” How do we renew our minds? by studying the Word of God, which is found in the Bible.
In this episode we start our look at chapter 5, verses 1-16, of the Book of Acts. As chapter 4 ends with the story of Barnabas selling his land to support other believers in need, chapter 5 opens with the story of a married couple, Ananias and Sapphira, who sell their land but lied to God about giving all of the proceeds from the sale to the apostles to help support other believers in need. As a result, they both lose their lives. Afterwards, great fear gripped the entire church. God should be praised and feared. The fear did not stop people from coming to Jesus; however, because “More than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.” Amen!
